Your Highness - My first movie review since my Jr. High School paper - The Osprey

My first movie Review - Your Highness: Universal Studios

Ok.  Here goes.  I’ll tell it like it is…

I actually went to preview another movie but my pass had the wrong time on it so I went to a preview of Your Highness instead.

I must say going into to this movie I was not expecting much.   In addition to the fact that Howard Stern liked it (that’s a marital dispute for another entry) and from what I saw in the commercials it looked like it was going to be a stupid not funny comedy and even though I adore Natalie Portman would she be enough to make this movie bearable.  Also before this my only experience with James Franco was a watching painful train wreck of him trying to host the Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway.

With that being said I was pleasantly surprised.  James Franco was actually amusing (and very nice to look at through out this entire movie).  Danny McBride was also funny and even though most of the jokes were sexual and full of foul language – not normally my kind of humor - they were all mostly quite funny.  Natalie Portman did not enter the movie until quite some time, but as usual she is always great to watch.  The chemistry between Portman and McBride worked very well together

The plot is simple.  An evil villain (Justin Theroux) kidnaps the virgin Princess Isabel (Zooey Deschanel) and Prince Fabious (James Franco) and his stoner brother Prince Thadeous (McBride) must rescue her.  They must find a sword on their quest because they need this to be able to defeat the evil villain.  Along the way they meet a few interesting characters, run into a few surprises and of course the opportunity for more jokes.  It moved along pretty steady though and kept my interest.

Overall all I’m not really sure why I enjoyed this movie but I did.  I was full vulgar language and jokes are not something that I normally watch but in the end I did laugh at most the jokes.  I would not take any children to it, even older children because it may be a bit uncomfortable but it is the type of film to see with a group of friends out for a fun evening.

Rating: R (for strong crude and sexual content, language and nudity)
Main Cast: Danny McBride, James Franco, Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman
Director: David Gordon Green
Running time: 1 hour, 42 minute

Clearance Markdowns – Stuff I don’t need but at a really good price….

Hi, I'm back.  Entry number 2.
Today while out looking for a neck brace (not for me) at a Walgreen's I saw clearance carts up front.  This always makes me a happy shopper.  I ran over to carts (my husband actually beat me to it) and the sign said 75% off.  Who hoo, that's when I buy Stuff, at 75% off.  It was already afternoon and the cashier informed me that the carts was full earlier in the day.  I of course did not let that discourage me.  I was determined to  find a deal.  And I did.  Lots. I found masking tape and pens (erasable pens - 80's flashbacks for me).  There were a ton of pictures frames but I already got the Stuff I wanted from the cart.  So then it's time to look around the store.  Food, lots of clearance food.  Progresso soups (big cans .75), oatmeal was .25 a box and Starbucks Via instant coffee 3 pack were .75.  There were also gifts and household items at 75% off as well.  I then decided to visit other Walgreen's.  They had different clearance items at 75% off and some at 90% off including discounts on frozen foods. Pizza for .25, Stouffers and Lean Cuisines were .90.  So then I went to few others.  Each one had different items but I still found Stuff to buy.   Then I went to CVS because I never did find the neck brace.  CVS did have the brace and the also had a 75% off clearance section.  I purchased dog toys and dog clothes and some misc. items.
Now there was no way that I went to all of the Walgreen’s and CVS store nationwide so this gives you an opportunity to find all of this Stuff at your stores.
Have fun shopping.  Remember, buying Stuff on clearance is the best way to buy Stuff.  I would say buy it only if you need it but I don’t follow the rule either.  If you think you will use it or want it or it’s a good deal than buy the Stuff.

Hi, welcome and why you should read this or not......

Hi.  I'm Stacey. I figured that should be apparent from the title but I just wanted to state that fact anyway.
So with that being said welcome to my blog.  This is my first blog.  This is my blog.  I know that may sound like a little kid but this is my blog.  It’s about me (kinda) and it’s for me (definitely).
I will be blogging about Stuff I like, Stuff I don't like, reviews of Stuff, where to get free Stuff, where to get not free Stuff  but its a good deal anyway or it's Stuff that I just really like and just Stuff in general that pops into my head.
I was initially going to call this blog it something like Savvy Stacey, Stacey's Steals and Deals or something to that effect but that's not really it.  Everything is not a deal. Some Stuff may even not be worth it to some but it Stuff that I really wanted to get, do or see.  Stuff is the best word that would cover all of that.  I like Stuff.  I like buying Stuff, doing Stuff and seeing Stuff.
Ok, one more thing.  I need to come clean.  The reason I started this blog was to get free Stuff and find out about free Stuff.  I would still like this to happen but I’m sure that thousands of others more experienced bloggers do as well.  So if it happens it great, if not no biggie because I think this will be fun.  I have a lot to say (my parents always told me that growing up) and I have a lot of opinions about Stuff that I buy, see and do, so this will be a way for me to make this known to all.  Ok, maybe not know to all and I do need to figure out how I get people to actually read this blog but I’m sure this will come in time.
So in closing for my first post on my first blog I will leave you with this...If you want to send me free Stuff to try, use, see and do, I will give you and anyone who reads this my honest opinion.  If not I have plenty of Stuff to give my opinion about so either way will work for me.  So be on the lookout for my first post about actual Stuff and not about my Stuff blog.
